Updates to Journal Design, Policies, and Licensing
The Editorial Team of the ETHIOINQUIRY Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences is pleased to announce a series of developments aimed at enhancing the journal's quality, accessibility, transparency, and alignment with international scholarly publishing standards. Beginning with Volume 5, the journal features a redesigned homepage and revised editorial and publishing policies. From this volume onward, articles will be published in HTML format, with an optional downloadable PDF version available for each article. These changes reflect our ongoing commitment to strengthening the journal's visibility, usability, and adherence to best practices in academic publishing.
As part of these developments, ETHIOINQUIRY has adopted the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license for all articles published from Volume 5 onward. This license permits unrestricted use, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction of published works in any medium, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and source.
To preserve the integrity of the scholarly record and honor the licensing terms under which earlier work was published, all articles in Volumes 1–4 will retain their original Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) license.
This licensing transition reflects the journal's continued commitment to openness and wider scholarly engagement, while ensuring clarity in how intellectual property rights are managed across our publication history.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our authors, reviewers, readers, and editorial board members for their continued support and contribution to the growth of the journal.
