ETHIOINQUIRY Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and to the active prevention of any malpractice. All parties involved in the publishing process — authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher — are expected to adhere to the following standards.
Authors
- Submit only original work that has not been published elsewhere and is not under simultaneous review.
- Accurately represent all authors and obtain consent from all named contributors.
- Declare all competing interests and obtain required ethical approvals for research involving human participants.
- Disclose any use of generative AI tools in manuscript preparation.
- Notify the journal immediately upon discovering an error in published work.
Editors
- Make publication decisions based solely on scholarly merit, free from any external influence.
- Declare and manage conflicts of interest in relation to manuscripts under evaluation.
- Protect the confidentiality of the review process.
- Act promptly to investigate and address ethical concerns.
Reviewers
- Provide honest, objective, and timely reviews.
- Declare any conflicts of interest and decline invitations where such conflicts exist.
- Treat manuscripts as confidential documents; do not share or upload them to AI tools.
Publisher
- Support editorial independence and refrain from influencing publication decisions.
- Ensure permanent preservation and accessibility of published content.
- Maintain transparent fee and licensing policies.
Consequences of Misconduct
Violations of these standards may result in manuscript rejection, retraction of published articles, issuance of an Expression of Concern, formal notification to the author's institution, permanent submission ban, or removal from the reviewer pool. All cases of misconduct are investigated following COPE guidelines.
