Open Access, Licensing, and Author Fee

Open Access, Licensing, and Author Fee Policy

1. Open Access Statement

ETHIOINQUIRY is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are made freely available online immediately upon publication, without embargo, for reading, downloading, and redistribution. Open access to scholarly research produced in Ethiopia and the broader African context is a core value of this journal, reflecting the principle that publicly funded research should be accessible to all.

2. Licensing

All articles published in ETHIOINQUIRY from Volume 5 onward are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license allows readers to share and adapt the material for any purpose, including commercial use, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors, a link to the license is included, and any changes are clearly indicated. Authors retain copyright to their work. Articles published in Volumes 1 through 4 remain under the Creative Commons Attribution- NonCommercial-NoDerivatives License (CC BY-NC-ND), under which they were originally published.

3. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

ETHIOINQUIRY currently does not charge authors or their institutions any article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or page charges. If this policy changes in the future, the new fee schedule will be prominently published on the journal website no less than six months before taking effect and will not apply retrospectively to manuscripts already under review.
